Family Background:
Son of Charles Edward and Clara (nee Frear) Humble, of Carlisle. In the 1921 Census Charles was working at Carrs Biscuits (Department Manager). He had been born in Leeds. Clara was from Cumberland. Eric Caton Humble was born 25th March, 1916, and Cyril in January 1921. In 1939, Charles was the Assistant Manager of the Biscuit Factory and the home address was 15, Warwick Square. Eric enlisted in the Indian Army in 1940, having been working in Sales in London in 1939. He married Daphne Jenkins in Delhi. He died in 1992 (Tyne and Wear). Charles died in 1963 and Clara in 1975.
